Classes for 2s

Children who are two years old can attend classes either two half-days, two full-days, five-half-days, or five full-days a week.  Classes provide a loving, nurturing, and secure learning environment for the child’s first school experience.  The goals of the program are to help students successfully transition to school, develop independence, self-esteem, and appropriate social skills, enrich language and cognition, refine fine and gross motor skills, and encourage a “lifelong

love for learning.”

Classes begin with a free-play period, during which children are encouraged to participate in an art or cognitive learning activity. Projects presented by the teachers are designed to allow each child to accomplish a task at his or her own unique developmental level. After free play, children clean up and gather for circle time, where a story, game, and movement activity take place.  Children then have a snack, come together for another circle and story time, and play outside

until dismissal.

All activities are tailored to the developmental level of two-year-old children who learn while having fun. Through hands-on and multi-sensory experiences, children discover the wonders of the world around them.  Individual, large, and small group activities are offered, with a wide range of age-appropriate materials that children can actively explore and manipulate.
