To All New and Returning Families ::

As Director of Geneva Day School who taught here for over fifteen years and

as a parent who enrolled her three children in Geneva's extraordinary programs,

it is my delight to also head our Summer Camp.

Welcome to Geneva's Summer Camp for Young Children!

On the heels of receiving yet more "Best" recognitions from readers of "Bethesda Magazine" and "Potomac Magazine," as well as receiving Maryland Green School certification, it is an honor for Geneva to extend the traditions of the academic year into the warmest months. Summer invites energetic exploration of the out-of-doors and new, sun-filled friendships.

Here, our campers (aged two through six-and-a-half) learn about themselves and the larger world. They discover their environment through our innovative playground, invigorating gardens, and inspiring, nearby creek. Sports, water play, cooking, theater, gardening, story time, arts and crafts, and of course, our weekly themes are often shaped by the STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math) approach.

We hope that your children will join us for a meaningful summer that fosters a "lifelong love of learning."

Very truly yours,

Daisy Lizama

To All New and Returning Families ::

My name is Anna Piper and I am thrilled to join our Geneva Summer Camp for Young Children

as Director. I have been a teacher of Environmental Education and Music at Geneva for the

past three years, and I am looking forward to taking on a new role outside the classroom.

Prior to working at Geneva, I worked as a music therapist and classroom co-teacher in various school settings, including The Ivymount School and The Maddux School. I also worked in private practice in Fairfax, VA, where I helped develop and facilitate the Capital Music Therapy Services Summer Camp Program for neurodiverse children.

Currently, I facilitate the music therapy and early childhood music exploration groups and individual sessions throughout the DMV area after school hours and on weekends. With a bachelor's degree in music therapy and master's degree in early childhood and special education, I enjoy developing innovative and engaging programs for children of all abilities. My passion for the outdoors, arts, and sciences make me even more excited about my new role sharing the helm of Geneva Summer Camp for Young Children.

I greatly forward to working alongside Daisy, all the staff, and volunteers who play an integral role in making the Summer Camp Program so special.  I also look forward to getting to know and work with the kids and their families.
