Summer Letter from Director Lizama

Geneva's award-winning programs

shine throughout the year. . .

Including under a summer's sun!

To All New and Returning Families,

As Director of Geneva Day School who taught here for over fifteen years and as a parent who enrolled her three children in Geneva's extraordinary programs, it is my delight to also head our Summer Camp.

Welcome to Geneva's Summer Camp for Young Children!

On the heels of receiving yet more "Best" recognitions from readers of "Bethesda Magazine," "Montgomery Magazine," and "Potomac Magazine," as well as receiving Maryland Green School certification, it is an honor for Geneva to extend the traditions of the academic year into the warmest months. Summer invites energetic exploration of the out-of-doors and new, sun-filled friendships.

Here, our campers (aged two through six-and-a-half) learn about themselves and the larger world. They discover their environment through our innovative playground, invigorating gardens, and inspiring, nearby creek. Sports, water play, cooking, theater, gardening, experiments, story time, arts and crafts, and of course, our weekly themes are shaped by the Geneva Method and powered by STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math) approach.

We look forward to your children joining us for a meaningful summer that fosters a "lifelong love of learning."

Very truly yours,

Director Daisy Lizama

Director of Geneva Day School and

Geneva Summer Camp for Young Children

Summer invites the joy of outdoor discovery and fond friendships.

Ever caught a fish while looking for mermaids in the local creek?

Ever paraded in red-white-and blue for the Fourth of July?

Ever played sports, engaged in science experiments, and discovered art while making fast friends?

At Geneva Summer Camp for Young Children, campers answer resoundingly YES to this and more. . .

Adventure Beckons

Many counselors were once Geneva campers or graduates themselves.

Great adventures that range from discovering prehistoric creatures (Dinosaurs), to celebrating kinesthetic feats (Circus), to engaging in high engineering (Three, Two, One. . . Blast Off!) bring campers to learn while having fun.

According to one parent, “Since our daughter started attending Geneva Summer Camp for Young Children, her speech skills have improved remarkably. . . The positive impact of (the Geneva Method) extends beyond her speech development; it has also bolstered her self-confidence, social interactions, and overall love for learning. As parents, we are overjoyed to witness her growth and see her embrace new opportunities with enthusiasm and curiosity.”

Nine Weekly Themes;
A Summer's Dream

Per the Geneva Method,

campers' interests take the lead when exploring themes.

Throughout our glimmering Maryland Green School grounds, and while at our thrumming nearby creek, campers are guided through a joyful trajectory of nine weekly themes:

Pets : June 1-5

Ocean Animals : June 8 -12

Dinosaurs : June 15-19

Three, Two, One. . . Blast-Off : June 22-26

Red, White, and Sparkly : June 29 - July 3

Tie-Dye : July 6 - 10

Circus : July 13 - 17

Eric Carle Week : July 20 - 24

Transportation July 27 - 31

Flexibility and Imagination Define our Programming

Summer unfolds according to your schedule and themes of interest. . .

All nine will delight!

Indeed, Director Daisy Lizama, a veteran Summer Program Director herself with sons who have enrolled in the camp, first as participants, and now as Counselors, can attest that “a summer at Geneva is an adventure in recreation, learning, and fun. . . A lifelong love of learning is fostered here.”

Be sure to enroll in one or all nine weekly themes.

Science experiments, sports, arts and crafts, gardening, water play, special visits from guest artists, athletes, entertainment troupes and petting farms/zoos, as well as expeditions to our nearby creek,  define our award-winning Geneva Summer Camp for Young Children as one-of-a-kind.

Half and full-day schedules are possible.
