All Day Class for Mixed 2s & 3s
This class offers a unique opportunity for children who need a full-day program. It provides warmth, stability, and stimulation in a setting where children grow and develop physically, socially, and intellectually. The class provides children with the opportunity to experience cooperative group living and learning, while developing skills and exploring their natural curiosities.
The teaching staff provides learning programs designed to enhance each child's skills in language arts, early literacy, math, social studies, fine and gross motor skills, and science. Concepts are taught through an integrated unit approach in which themes are woven across the curriculum throughout the week. Students rotate to teacher-directed centers in small groups, which also allows for individualized instruction. Activities are hands-on and multi-sensory, which allows for
creativity. A period for quiet time or a nap is provided each afternoon.
Mixed-age classes allow older children to develop leadership qualities while continuing to foster independence, self-esteem, and social skills. Younger children set good examples of their older classmates and are exposed to new ideas, concepts, and skills.
