Mindful Exercise
Presence in the Now,
Kindness to our classmates and ourselves,
Alignment of body and mind.

Instructor Mrs. Prayag, an experienced hand and kind heart at Geneva Day School, demonstrates presence "in the now" by leading students in Mindful Exercise.

Deep breathing, focus, and animal postures are recurring themes. Through a single Sun Salutation, Mrs. Prayag achieves class-wide calm. She also plays "singing bowls" which resonate at different and delightful frequencies, harnessing the attention of any within range.

Mindfulness in early childhood education results in a sense of calm, self-regulation, and greater attentiveness to lessons. Read Mrs. Preyag's special letter of welcome here.
