Geneva Parents Association
Dear Geneva Parents,
On behalf of the Geneva Parent Association (GPA), we would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! There are many wonderful events planned this year and we can’t wait to get to know you and your wonderful children.
For those of you new to Geneva Day School, the GPA is the volunteer group consisting of parents who meet monthly to discuss issues important to the school and to plan activities to help foster a greater sense of community amongst our families. The GPA also serves as a bridge between the school and Geneva Families. We strive to foster a community of parents to encourage lifelong friendships in the years to come. This year, I will be leading our GPA Board as President along with the other members of the GPA Board, including Dory Halbe as Co-President, Andrea Merber as Vice President, and Sarah Nesbit as Treasurer.
As the parent of a student at Geneva, you are a member of the GPA and we welcome you to our community. We would love to get to know you and encourage you to get involved! One of the ways to get involved by becoming a Room Parent. Past Room Parents have found this is a great way to get to know Geneva, meet teachers, and their classroom parents. Another way to get involved is to serve on committees or volunteer at GPA events.
The GPA will kick off the school year by hosting some truly exciting events. Be sure to mark your calendar for the Welcome Back Social on Friday, September 6th at 5:30 p.m. The event is held on the Geneva Playground and complimentary pizza and popsicles are available. The next event is the Fall Festival on October 12th in the later afternoon/evening. This will be a big event filled with activities, bounce houses, pumpkins, and more!
The School provides so many wonderful gifts to our students and we hope to help improve the environment and experience for each student. I look forward to meeting all the new Geneva families and reconnecting with those returning for another year. Please feel free to contact the GPA at with any questions or concerns regarding the GPA or GPA sponsored events.
We are always looking for new ideas and suggestions!
