Geneva
Parents Association The
Geneva Parents Association (GPA) was established by the Geneva Presbyterian
Church in 1977. It is a group of volunteer parents who meet monthly to discuss issues facing
the school and plan activities that will create community among families
to help enrich our children’s time in preschool and Kindergarten. More specifically, the GPA serves as a liaison
between the school and families, coordinates fundraising efforts and
provides families with philanthropic activities in which to participate. All
Geneva parents are invited to attend these meetings, which are generally
held at school on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the open
classroom. Please consider attending the meetings and
sharing your ideas. 2006 GPA Officers President Karie Greenblatt Co-Vice Presidents Virginia Horton Secretary Rika Darby Treasurer Jay Matson Rocking Horse Road Center Geneva
Day School, through the work of the GPA, provides help to the Rocking
Horse Road Center which administers the Head Start program. Head Start is a federally sponsored program which serves low-income
children and their families. It
was originated to provide children with access to preschool programs
to allow better preparation for school.
Now, it includes health and social services as well as parent
education classes. The
Geneva Day School GPA and families have been donating clothing and/or
food throughout the year for the past several years.
There are three main drives during the school year: (1) September/ October: Halloween costumes
(new or used), (2) November/December: coat/mitten, (3) Spring Break:
non-perishable food. Clothing
and food donations are accepted any time outside of these time frames. You can call the VP-Philanthropy, Virginia

arrange a drop-off at the center which is located at 4910 Macon Road,
